GPF22 Impressions

Many thanks to all partners, speakers and participants who made the GREEN PEAK FESTIVAL 2022 possible. We are proud of over 585 visitors and a wide and positive media echo.

The first GREEN PEAK FESTIVAL in 2022 was a full-day event consisting of the parts conference, networking, award & music and covered various topics related to sustainability & climate protection.

At the conference we brought together Austrian and international sustainability innovators and change-makers from the worlds of business, finance, politics, and civil society to present their work, foster international exchange, and galvanize action for a better, greener future. No less than the fate of future generations depend on the choices we make today.

Award

Together with our supporting partner, Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws), we have been looking for Austria's most promising start-up in the field of sustainability and green tech.

The aws managed the selection process for the Green Peak Award: Out of 80 submissions, 8 were invited to the Gala Dinner and 4 of the most promising Green Start-Ups got the opportunity to pitch their company in front of the GREEN PEAK FESTIVAL audience: ParaStruct, AgroBiogel, Livin Farms & Lignovations. The winner was determined through a voting process where the audience was allowed to choose their favorite.

Music

After all the exciting and mind changing conversations we close the first GREEN PEAK FESTIVAL 2022 on the dance floor. Behind the big Conference Stage there was an extra Music Stage with a professional sound system for our two main DJ Acts Wolfram and MÖWE and Wolfram.

MÖWE

Founded 2013 by Melanie Ebietoma and Clemens Martinuzzi, MÖWE soon evolved rapidly and won the hearts of music lovers all over the world.
MÖWE developed a unique Sound and Music Style. Melanie and Clemens are a total work of art. Both musicians know how to play the guitar, bass, piano and they can sing. This is impressive for the audience and ensures enthusiastic dancing.

Wolfram

DJ and Producer Wolfram is one of the most requested DJ exports from Austria. His name is well known among clubbers in New York, Tokyo, Ibiza and Berlin.
His heart belongs in the 80s. Techno, trashy Eurodance and Italo-Disco-Sounds are melting together into Music which stucks in your head easily, moves your legs to the rhythm and keeps the mood up till the morning.

Sustainability, and in particular how we master climate change, is one of the very big challenges.

For me personally, for AGRANA as an energy-intensive processor of agricultural raw materials, for our suppliers and customers, and for society as a whole, this is an issue of increasingly existential importance.

That is why we are pursuing an ambitious plan to switch to renewable energy sources to reduce our climate impact.

The biggest challenge and the biggest opportunity of humankind currently is to do our utmost to keep our fragile planet sustainable, healthy and prosperous for the generations to come. We are the last generation that can still do something meaningful about stopping the overheating of the planet. The good news: we have all the science, tools, skills and connectedness we need at hand, if only we truly act as global citizens.

The effects of the climate crisis are omnipresent and widely visible. Because of its complexity and drama, the climate crisis is ultimately also a crisis of our imagination.

Climate protection means commitment at all levels. We have to demonstrate, inform, inspire, educate and hold those legally accountable who intentionally damage the environment.

Climate change presents humanity with the greatest challenge in its history. It requires not only a change in the economic system, but above all in the individual behaviour of every single person. I am convinced that start-ups will make a significant contribution to the necessary changes. That is why aws i2 Business Angels will emphasise impact & climate investments in the future.

It is a huge challenge for all of us, to limit global warming and climate change.
